Update on the Victory Christian Center judicial sale status

On behalf of the Elder Board and Building Committee, I would like to update you on the judicial sale of Victory Christian Center.

We would like to, first of all, thank you for your prayers and patience. While ECAC had submitted a bid last September on the VCC site, we have recently discovered that due to various circumstances our bid, as well as any other bids, was not presented to the courts. The Elder Board and Building Committee, in consultation with the Western District of the C&MA, have been monitoring the process.

Last week the court-appointed receivers told us we have a unique but time-limited opportunity. Although we are aware of another bid is under consideration, ECAC is now presented with a unique opportunity to present our bid to the judge as soon as possible. The reason for the urgency is that although the other offer is higher than ours, we understand that it may be dependent upon the removal of few conditions. It is understood that if we can remove the conditions on our bid (i.e. congregational approval should our bid be accepted and acceptable results on the due diligence building condition inspection and environmental site assessment) the courts may accept our “clean” bid in preference to the other bid.

We want to be clear that because this is a “clean” or “unconditional bid” there will not be the 30 day grace period for due diligence typically to remove conditions. 

To address the due diligence issue and to facilitate the decision making, the EB and BC has initiated the Environmental Site Assessment study and a building inspection. Further, we will host two Town Hall meetings next week (Feb. 24th) to explain the details and provide further information with the intent to hold a ballot on March 10th one week following the Annual Membership Meeting to vote either for or against submitting an unconditional bid to the courts to purchase the VCC site.

If we have membership approval and District approval, the EB will submit the unconditional bid to the judge on behalf of ECAC. If our bid is successful, the monies will be due and payable immediately and we will then own the VCC site.

What can you do?

1.   Pray fervently that God’s will be done for our facility needs.

2.   Attend one of two Town Hall meetings next Sunday on Feb 24th to discuss the details of this unconditional bid.

• MMC and CMC, at 11 am to 12:30 pm in the basement sanctuary 
• EMC and JMC, at 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm in the main floor sanctuary
• Annual Membership Meeting will follow at 1:45 pm.

3.   Cast the vote on the General Membership Meeting on Sunday March 10th to vote for or against the unconditional bid for VCC. In order to engage more members in this important decision, “Advance Voting” will start on March 3rd at the church office.
